Capel receives the GIBSON sports award

PITTSBURG – University of Pittsburgh Head Coach Jeff Capel was among 10 recipients of the awards announced by the Josh Gibson Foundation during a luncheon at the Homeplate Club at PNC Park on Friday, August 5.

The lunch, hosted by WTAE-TV Anchor & Sports Director Andrew Stockey, was part of a three-day series of events celebrating the 50e anniversary of Josh Gibson’s induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY The Foundation presented its Golden Anniversary Awards, GIBSON Awards and a college scholarship at the luncheon.
