Clarksburg Nursing Home Gets Valentine’s Drive

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Home Federal Credit Union held its second Valentine’s Day campaign for residents of Clarksburg-area retirement homes.

The Care Home Drive is a community service event that was established in 2021 to help bring smiles, joy and love to those who need it most.

Most care homes have gone through a very difficult time with the pandemic and this is one way for the community to get involved to make a difference.

Local churches, elementary schools, people of all walks of life made this event a reality.

“I think the event is important to the local community because not only are we giving back to our much-needed retirement home residents, but here at Home Federal Credit Union, our motto is, ‘people help. people” and it’s just a way of putting our words into action, and we know that actions speak louder than words,” said Angie Nicholson, marketing specialist at Home Federal Credit Union.

The drive collected all kinds of donations: coloring books for adults, crossword puzzles, Valentine’s Day cards, paintings and various food products.

Nicholson said, “All it takes is an idea and it can spread, joy can spread, kindness can spread.”

HFCU looks forward to future Valentine’s Day records from the retirement home to help the local community.
