Grants Pass School District superintendent candidates available to meet with community | News

Grants Pass School District 7 is looking for a new superintendent and you can meet the two finalists.

Trisha Evans is currently Superintendent of Secondary Education, Grants Pass School District 7. Tim Sweeney is currently Superintendent, Shell School District #8.

Current superintendent Kirk Kolb advised the school board last year that he would not seek renewal of his contract.

The school board plans to choose the new superintendent by the end of March.

Here are the details of where the public can meet the finalists:

March 14, 2022, Community Q&A

  • Candidate: Trisha Evens, Director of Secondary Education, Grants Pass School District 7
  • Time: 4:15 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Location: Center for the Performing Arts, Grants Pass High School

March 15, 2022, community Q&A

  • Candidate: Tim Sweeney, Superintendent, Coquille School District #8
  • Time: 4:15 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Location: Commons, Grants Pass High School

In a statement released last week, Grants Pass School District wrote:

The two finalists will be interviewed by the board, staff, and community members on March 14, 2022 and March 15, 2022. Each finalist will spend an entire day interviewing the various groups, followed by a community interview that will take place at Grants Pass High School. . Parents, community members, students and staff will have the opportunity to attend community interview sessions for each finalist. Additional details will be released soon.
