Let’s Talk Alzheimer’s Research: A Community Event

Baylor College of Medicine, Houston Methodist Hospital, Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children’s Hospital, and the Alzheimer’s Association have partnered to host “Let’s Talk Alzheimer’s Research: A Community Event” to provide community members information about ongoing research studies taking place at these Texas Medical Center institutions on Alzheimer’s disease and related causes of dementia.

This event will take place Friday, September 30 from 9-11 a.m. at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute, 1250 Moursund St., Houston, TX 77030.

The event is free and open to the public. During the two-hour program, experts will explain Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, whether early detection is possible, how genetic testing can be used, current research opportunities and how to participate/enroll in these initiatives .

Due to COVID-19 safety measures, masks will be provided and must be worn during the event, and all attendees must have received a first round of COVID-19 vaccines.

Light refreshments will be served. Parking will be available at McGovern Commons, 6550 Bertner Ave., and will be validated after the event.
