Martin Luther King Jr. Day Events Countywide
Events are planned across San Diego County to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Events range from gatherings to celebrate King’s legacy to gatherings to serve the community in honor of his work.
MLK Day is officially celebrated on Monday, January 17 of this year (the King’s birthday is January 15), but a number of events take place on other days as well.
The King’s birthday was designated a federal holiday in 1983. In 1994, Congress marked the holiday as a national day of service run by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
Some events have moved from in person to virtual due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, so check the event’s website again for updates.
