School supply drive is this year’s 4-H community service project
Each year, South Dakota 4-H hosts an annual statewide community service project, enabling youth and families to give back to those in need locally, stately, nationally or internationally.
State 4-H Ambassadors on the Teen Leadership Conference Committee select several ideas for community service projects, which are presented to attendees of the annual Teen Leadership Conference. At the end of the week, participating teens vote for their most loved project to take place in the following 4-H year.
This process allows young people to have their say when selecting the subject of the project. The project topic that was chosen by the teens attending the Teen Leadership Conference is Supplies for Success: A Collection of School Supplies. This project allows individuals in South Dakota to donate school supplies locally to distribute to youth in the community for the 2022-23 school year. Codington County 4-H Youth will be collecting school supplies through August 1 and distributing them throughout Codington County.
