Focus on our activities in UKRAINE

PUI has been working in Ukraine since 2015, in response to the needs caused by the conflict in the Donbass. PUI is developing its integrated approach with health, mental health, protection and WASH projects to improve and restore equitable access to quality health services as well as water, sanitation and hygiene for the poorest populations. most vulnerable living in towns located along the line of contact in Donetsk Oblast. PUI also technically and materially assists a large network of health facilities and social institutions to improve the quality of care provided to the population. In order to support the populations affected by the conflict currently affecting the country, PUI is currently intensifying its activities in the Donbass and in other regions of Ukraine.

What about the security and access coordinator?

As Security Coordinator, reporting to the Head of Mission, you will be responsible for the management, implementation and supervision of all security operations in support of staff and activities.

To this end, you will be responsible for:

Security Management: You will coordinate security operations ensuring that security procedures are implemented and followed in accordance with country security standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Program Implementation: You will deploy, implement and update the Safety Management System through capacity building, coaching oversight and safety and security awareness.

Security Incident Management: You will prepare a security incident and crisis response plan for all likely security threat scenarios. You will support the Head of Mission in the management and coordination of all security emergencies providing a rapid and consistent response to incidents as they arise.

Evaluation and monitoring of the context: You accompany and monitor evaluation missions outside the usual areas of intervention.

Coordination and external representation: You develop and maintain lasting relationships with the armed forces.

What you will need to succeed


You hold a master’s degree in geopolitics, political science, security management, military tactics or any related field with a focus on organizational development or risk management.


You have a minimum of 2 years experience in the humanitarian sector. Experience in security management or a similar field would add value. Have you ever worked with Première Urgence Internationale? That would be a definite plus!


You have proven experience in command of an operational unit or sub-unit. You have excellent skills in information gathering and analysis procedures and an ability to recognize potential threats and dangers. You also have strong and proven crisis and emergency management skills and you have excellent planning and organizational skills. You are proficient in the production of policy and procedure documents supporting project operations in the country of operations. You have an in-depth knowledge of security information, a good IT level and you master the Office Pack.


You are a good communicator, both in writing and orally, and you demonstrate a great sense of discretion and integrity. You demonstrate leadership, a sense of responsibility, vigilance, flexibility and are able to solve problems. You have the ability to prioritize a heavy workload and delegate accordingly. You are able to handle difficult work situations, a precarious environment with potential movement restrictions. You are able to establish successful working relationships with contacts outside of the project security section.


English has no more secrets for you! Good, it’s mandatory for this position. If you speak Ukrainian, Russian and/or French, it would be a definite asset.

Status : CDD framework

Monthly Gross Income: 2,650.00 – 3,130.00 EUR depending on your experience in International Solidarity + €50 per semester of seniority with PUI

Insurance including medical and complementary health cover, 24-hour assistance and repatriation

Lodging in collective housing

Daily living expenses (“Per day”)

Pause policy: 5 working days at 3 and 9 months

Paid leave policy: 5 weeks of paid vacation per year + round trip every 6 months
